I was born and raised in South Milwaukee, just like my dad, and my children will be able to say the same. I graduated from SMHS and then from Marquette with a degree in Math and Secondary Education. I am proud to have taught Math at SMHS from 2011-2015, to have coached wrestling from 2007-2017, and to actively coach multiple youth sports. My career at Omnigo Software is spent creating training courses for police and security, with over 23,000 officers completing my various training courses. Outside of work my family stays active working out, biking, reading, and walking the dogs.

What's Important to me
  • Teacher Shortages:  Teacher retention and teacher shortages affect us all. This isn't a future problem; it is a now problem. Want better student behavior? Higher test scores? Happier kids? Better future workforce?  Hire, develop, respect, and retain effective educators.

  • Student Achievement:  The district is on the right track in combating chronic absenteeism by emphasizing attendance this year, but we can push harder by ensuring age-appropriate curriculum, an ecological approach to learning, and strong language and number sense before middle and high school. It is also time we address the brain/body connection; we offer poor food choices and give kids less than sufficient time to move

  • Student Involvement and Community Engagement:  Students quickly become non-students. How does the school system prepare students to be affective members of society?  We need to continually work to create good people, good choices, and good plans. College/Military/Workforce used to be the only option, but the world is changing fast and students need to understand their choices early and be involved in the decision-making process.
